The offseason is in full swing, and for the Dallas Cowboys, it’s been a very quiet one. With key departures on both sides of the ball, Jerry Jones and the war room have their work cut out for them during the 2024 NFL Draft. Will they prioritize protecting Dak Prescott with an offensive lineman in the first round, or go after another dynamic weapon to pair with CeeDee Lamb?

Perhaps the defense gets the early love, shoring up the pass rush or the secondary. Buckle up, Cowboys fans, because we’re about to dive into a three-round mock draft and explore the potential solutions that could shape the future of America’s Team!

Round 1, Pick 24: Tyler Guyton – T, Oklahoma

Oklahoma’s Tyler Guyton is a late-first-round riser thanks to his elite athleticism and impressive size. A former tight end, Guyton boasts footwork and explosiveness that translates well to pass protection. At 6’7” and 328 pounds, he has the ideal frame for an NFL tackle, and his ability to reach defenders and anchor in the run game is equally promising. While his technique is still developing, Guyton’s raw talent and upside make him a nice addition to an offensive line that recently lost Tyron Smith.

Round 2, Pick 56: Jalen McMillan – WR, Washington

A shifty route runner with a burner’s speed, Jalen McMillan is a versatile weapon who can line up anywhere on the field. He uses his precise footwork and savvy route-running to create separation, while his long strides and explosiveness make him a deep threat. McMillan boasts reliable hands and a knack for turning short passes into big gains after the catch, making him a potential difference-maker for teams seeking a well-rounded wide receiver.

Leave it to Jerry Jones to surprise folks during the NFL Draft. That said, Dallas needs a legit second threat on the outside to take some pressure off CeeDee Lamb. While also giving Dak another solid pass-catching option.

Round 3, Pick 87: Trey Benson – RB, Florida State

If he falls this far, Florida State’s Trey Benson is a great option for the Cowboys. He is a complete package running back who at 6’1″ and 223 pounds, combines excellent size and power with surprising speed and agility. Benson displays a downhill running style that punishes defenders but also boasts the vision and footwork to navigate cluttered boxes. He’s a weapon in the passing game as well, with reliable hands and the ability to create separation out of the backfield. Dallas needs to find its RB1 for 2024 and fresh legs like Benson’s would be a boost to the offense.
