There is no denying that LeBron James is one of the greatest players in the sport of all time, but the LA Lakers’ power forward is also often compared to Michael Jordan in the GOAT debate.

Now 39, the Lakers star continues to break records and leave a lasting legacy behind and did just that in his last outing against the Brooklyn Nets.

As noted by GiveMeSport, James has surpassed Jordan on the list of players with the most 30-point games, claiming the top spot.

Most 30-point games in NBA history

LeBron James – 672 games

With 672 games in which he’s scored 30 points or more, James now holds the outright record.

The 39-year-old scored nine 3-pointers against the Nets on course to achieving 40 points in the game.

He also tied Jordan for the most 40+ point games at 39 or older.

Michael Jordan – 671 games

Considered the undisputed GOAT of the NBA, Jordan used to run out for the Chicago Bulls.

His Airness played 15 seasons in the NBA, winning six championships in the process.

Such was his influence on the sport, that the NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award trophy was named after him.

Following his retirement in 2003, Jordan became a businessman and was listed in the Top 20 Most Powerful Celebs in 2009, according to Forbes.

Wilt Chamberlain – 557 games

A former Philadelphia 76ers star, Chamberlain was another all-time great of the sport.

The ex-Lakers star set many records in the NBA, some of which may stand the test of time.

Standing over 7 feet tall, his height played a significant factor in his success, and in March 1962, he set a new single-game scoring record in the NBA.

Karl Malone – 435 games

Nicknamed ‘The Mailman’ because he always delivers, Malone was named one of the NBA’s 50 greatest all-time players.

The former Utah Jazz star was known for his intense workout regimens and never missed more than two games in 18 seasons at Utah.

Despite his success on the court, Malone had his fair share of controversies off it and found his name dragged back into the headlines last year for his previous relations with an underage girl, SportsKeeda reported.

Kobe Bryant – 431 games

One of the most popular basketball players in recent history, Bryant was a shooting guard who spent 20 years at the LA Lakers.

An 18-time All-Star and five-time NBA Championship winner, the Black Mamba is another NBA great.

Bryant wasn’t only loved for his skills on the court, but he was also extremely popular away from the sport. He was involved in music, television, movies, books, and business ventures and was also known for his philanthropy.

He was tragically killed in a helicopter accident in 2020, USA Today reported.

LeBron pays tribute to Jurgen Klopp

Lakers star, James, recently hailed outgoing Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, Sports Brief also reported.

The German coach announced he would be stepping down as boss of the Reds at the end of the season.

James, who owns a stake in the Merseyside team, praised the coach for all he has done for the team.
