Draymond Green Sends Strong Message to Houston Rockets

The Golden State Warriors are hoping to end Houston’s season

The Golden State Warriors have won five-straight games to create some separation between themselves and the Houston Rockets. An 11-game winning streak for Houston pulled them within a half-game of Golden State for the 10th seed, but Houston has since dropped two-straight to fall three games back of the Warriors.

Rockets forward Tari Eason recently called out the Warriors in a video, making it clear that his team was looking to run them down in the standings. Warriors forward Draymond Green initially responded in an episode of his podcast, saying, “Why he would come out and make a video telling the Warriors to come out and play? Everybody in Houston had a heart attack when he did that. When you lose to a team in the playoffs when it matters the most… It’s tough to talk, because that’s what matters.”

Now with a three-game lead over Houston, and a matchup with them on Thursday, Green and the Warriors can essentially end their season with a win in that game. Making this known on a new episode of his podcast, Green said, “[The Rockets] have lost a couple in a row… Three games behind with seven games left, and you’re losing the tiebreaker… Tomorrow will be an opportunity to end their season, their playoff hopes.”

Golden State has higher aspirations than the 10th seed, but they need to at least finish that high to make the play-in tournament.
